Tesco Sponsorship

Tesco Logo

Tesco joins the growing list of sponsors of the IXth NatWest Island Games 2001.

With just over thirty weeks to go to the start of the NatWest Island Games, Games mascot Max Cat was at Tesco on Lake Road in Douglas to supervise the handing over of a cheque for a thousand pounds by store manager Paul Gallagher, to the Games Organising team and to the Tourism Minister, David Cretney.

Tesco have now committed themselves to raising fifteen thousand pounds for the Games over the next six months. Staff members will be organising fund raisers and the store itself will be running special promotions and offers to support the Island's effort. Max Cat will be very much in evidence in the run-up to the games, so shoppers at Tesco shouldn't be alarmed if they find a seven foot cat helping them with their shopping!
